Hands-on STEM learning, mentorship, and exposure to real-world scientific careers.
AODI’s STEM Workshops provide young people with practical, engaging learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The workshops are designed to move beyond traditional classroom learning by giving participants opportunities to explore scientific concepts, experiment with ideas, solve problems, and understand how STEM knowledge can be applied to real-world challenges.
The programme focuses particularly on creating access to quality STEM learning for young people who may have limited exposure to practical science education, mentorship, laboratories, technology, and STEM career pathways. Through hands-on activities, demonstrations, collaborative challenges, expert-led sessions, and exposure to professionals and researchers, participants are encouraged to develop curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
AODI also uses its STEM workshops to promote greater inclusion and participation in scientific fields, particularly among young people from underrepresented communities. By connecting learning with real-world applications and opportunities, the workshops help participants see STEM not only as an academic discipline, but as a powerful tool for addressing societal challenges and creating solutions.
